bargeboo: Bellow is a compilation of reactions from various iranian websites, including weblogs, chats, and discussion forums around the world:
n.o. - i ... i can't believe it! what an honour, what pride ...i congratulate them, you, myself, every iranian ...
shadi - happiness, the only news that can finally break the silence.
babak - this news just made my week!
a. behnam - iran's television has no even shown her picture ...
armin g. - i am particularly happy not just because she is an iranian but also because she is not a criminal and but a freedom fighter.
amir - this is what we have been waiting for ... i was in shock for almost 15 minutes.
bamdad - congratulations ... i cried with joy ... this woman really deserve this award ...in her fight she has risked her life ... i free proud and i will give this news to all my non-iranian friends. i feel even more proud to be an iranian.
sina h. - i am very happy for the honour bestowed upon shirin ebadi by the free thinkers and freedom lovers of the world. I am particularly proud of the women who fight for the rights in iran and who are now feel light as feather. I fly with you! shirin ebadi, has not only worked hard for the rights of women and children but she has also brought up an important issue to the world's attention: security in the 21 first century ... we should be doubly proud that shirin who till now was a thorn in the thieves of people's lives, is now a dagger in their sides. this is a huge victory for the freedom lovers of my country.
asal - my mom is crying from happiness! i am dancing too! tomorrow is going to be amazing at the university ... oooo! well done!
s.w. - congratulations to every iranian woman. shirin ebadi is in truth the symbol for the iranian women who in the 25 years of the night-worshipers in iran has endured the most abuse. she has had a big role in fighting against the islamic government. the key to a bright future is also held in the kind hands of the iranian woman. a tomorrow of freedom, equality, peace, culture and knowledge. a tomorrow of human based society. with this great happiness and with renewed hopes for arriving at this "tomorrow" we will double our efforts.
shoehreh - ... what amazing pride, the world has not forgotten us yet. these old and savage hyenas should be having really tough days right now ... i am so happy i would embrace and kiss everyone if i could ...
k. - we should go to the airport and welcome her home. a welcoming party will be another slap in the faces of the islamic oppression in our country. we shouldn't let the shock of this prize wind down. we should all pitch in and mobilize everybody to welcome her. her nobel prize is more important than any soccer team's winning ...
m.n. - i am happy i feel like shouting it out loud at my work. i hope shirin ebadi knows how much we appreciate her and what a special place she holds in out hearts.
"zan nevesht" weblog - while all the news agencies around the world covered this news as a very important bit of information, Iran's television (channel 14, comprehensive news channel) has yet to mention it.
- i really liked it that unlike some, mrs. ebadi appeared without a head cover in paris and gives interviews. i am sure the supreme leader and others such as "janati" and "mesbah" will be furious which makes all feel better. its kinda fun that for the same reason they cant show and say anything on tv the miserable sorts. really what are they going to do if suddenly women stopped wearing head scarves and don't give it up even with violence? how weak and fragile a government is that its remaining in power depends on whether or not half of its population is showing its hair and body or not!
- by god, if "khatami" gave aother one of his generalized and useless talks to appease the leader and his friends .... well its not like i can do anything. i have taken back my vote a long time ago. he can do whatever he wants to do. but if he knows what is best this is the perfect time to say a word or two against the leader and in support of the human rights activists and also the jailed journalists. but he is too chicken anyway ... i had to say it so i would feel better.
niki - i think because of the "zahra kazemi" and "afsanhe noroozi"'s stories she has been chosen at the last minute, and it carries a message to the leaders of iran.

bargeboo: i will add more over time. i would like to point out that I have been trying to find other points of views on this issue as well and so far all the weblogs i have seen by pro-government writers have been silent. stay tuned.
